Connections2energy are celebrating International Women’s Day 2025.
Women are underrepresented in the UK utilities sector, with only 28% of employees identifying as female compared to the national average of 48% (Utility Week). In 2024, women held only 29% of board seats in the UK energy sector and just 16% of executive board director roles.
Connections2energy is proud to challenge this statistic, with women making up 80% of our workforce and 57% of our management team. We are proud to empower women to grow and thrive, even in a male-dominated industry. We celebrate the achievements, contributions, and growth of our female colleagues with pride.

At Connections2energy, I’m proud to be part of a team that not only values but actively supports the growth and development of women at all levels.
Our commitment to fostering an inclusive environment has been instrumental in my own journey, and I’m dedicated to ensuring that our female colleagues continue to break barriers and achieve their full potential.
Courtney Prestage, Commercial Director
As a young woman in the utilities sector, I know I’m part of a small but growing group making a difference in this industry. It can be daunting to step into a traditionally male-dominated field, but at Connections2energy, I’ve always felt valued and supported.
I hope to inspire more young women to pursue careers in utilities.
Maddy Doherty, Assistant Account Manager

International Women’s Day is a worldwide event that celebrates women’s achievements – from the political to the economic and the social – while calling for gender equality. The day has been celebrated since the early 1900s and is now recognised each year on 8 March. #AccelerateAction
