Telecoms cable diversions
Existing telecoms cables in the way?
Existing telecoms cables frequently conflict with new development schemes. Unlike gas or water, telecoms cables may belong to multiple operators on the same site: Openreach, Virgin Media, CityFibre and others. Each requires a separate diversion application, separate coordination and separate completion sign-off.
We identify which operators own which cables, submit diversion applications to each simultaneously, track progress with every operator independently and ensure all diversions are complete to programme. One contact manages what would otherwise be a complex multi-operator process.
Need more than just telecoms?
If your project also needs gas, water or telecoms, our multi-utility service could save your programme significant time and cost.

CLIENT REVIEWS
What our clients say
★★★★★
“I can’t praise this company and their team of people highly enough. We used them for our mains water connection, and they guided us through the whole process efficiently and professionally, also offering advice and guidance along the way too.”
★★★★★
“I chose C2E to deal with my utility connections during the conversion of my barn. I chose C2E over two other companies as from the first enquiry to completion, Nicola put a lot of effort into ensuring we got the connection carried out to our requirements at the best cost.”

common questions
Telecoms infrastructure, your questions answered
What does development registration with a telecoms provider involve?
Development registration is the formal process of notifying a full fibre network provider that a new development is being built and requires connectivity. Without it, the provider has no record of your site and cannot plan or schedule their network build. We manage the full registration process, from selecting the right provider through to confirming the site is active on the provider's system.
When should I register my development for telecoms?
As early as possible. Telecoms providers, particularly Openreach, operate to their own internal timescales, which can be slow if you engage late. We recommend registering at the planning or pre-commencement stage. Telecoms is one of the most common causes of handover delays on new residential developments so early registration is the single most effective way to prevent it.
Which full fibre provider should I use?
The right provider depends on your location, plot count and programme timescales. Openreach covers the widest geographic area. CityFibre can offer faster timescales in many cities. Virgin Media has strong urban coverage. We assess the options for your specific scheme and recommend accordingly; we're not tied to any single provider.
How do telecoms cable diversions work?
When existing telecoms cables conflict with a new development, they must be rerouted by the network operator who owns them. Each operator has its own application process, timescales and requirements. Where multiple operators have cables on the same site, separate applications must be submitted and managed simultaneously. We identify all operators involved, manage all applications concurrently and ensure all diversions are complete before construction of the affected areas begins.
Can you manage telecoms alongside gas, water and electric?
Yes, and this is one of the key advantages of our multi-utility service. Coordinating telecoms alongside your other utilities through one account manager means all services are managed against the same construction programme. It eliminates the risk of telecoms being overlooked until late in the programme, one of the most common and avoidable causes of handover delays.
