What are Trial Holes / Trial Pits?

Strategically placed trial holes can verify the location and depth of underground utilities prior to design and build which generates site health and safety improvements alongside vast project cost savings. Trial Holes are a quick, low-cost site investigation method...

Connections2energy have been very helpful in assisting and advising what has been a very complex site.

Charlotte Eves has worked with me through numerous variations to ensure we get the best value and consequently we have succeeded in significantly reducing costs without compromising the site requirements.

As always, the project was delivered on budget and on time thanks to the expertise and hard work of the C2E team.

The team are able to find the most competitive pricing for utility works and then co-ordinate the various parties to deliver as per the client’s requirements.  This can become complex when multiple contractors are required… and so I would highly recommend using the C2E team to deliver this type of project.

Frequently Asked Questions

How soon can I get my electric connection?

We aim to deliver your new electric requirements as soon as possible; your project’s timeline is unique as it is dependent on its location, the design selected, and what other projects are taking place in the area.

Your account manager will consider all factors and will be able to indicate a rough estimate for when your works will be completed.

What type of electric connection will I need?

Our account managers have the ability to advise on all types of electric connections and will be able to assist you with what type of connection is best suited for your project

What is an MPAN number and how do I find it?

A Metering Point Administration Number (MPAN) is a unique number for an electric meter. Your MPAN number is normally on your electricity bill. It’s 21 digits long and begins with an ‘S’.

How much will my electric connection cost?

The cost of electric work can vary, depending on what is required. Once you’ve spoken to your account manager, they will be able to send over a comprehensive quote and will be able to answer any enquiries you may have.

Do I need to accept your quote?

You have no obligation to accept the quotes we have obtained for your electric requirements. However, your account manager will always do their best to acquire the best prices for your project.

Recently we have witnessed a significant increase in demand for the existing electricity infrastructure network, especially as the construction industry moves away from gas and fossil fuel heating systems.

We would advise our clients that if you have received a formal POC offer, that you accept it before it expires to avoid losing that existing capacity, and the potential of attracting additional reinforcement costs for your supply requirements.

What are reinforcement works?

There are times when the network is at full capacity and the required load for the development is not available. When this occurs, the network will need to reinforce its local network and increase its capacity. This historically would be for the developer to pay for, however, from April 2023, it’s been confirmed that the networks will subsidise any reinforcement cost to allow developers to get the capacity they require.
