Connections2energy are delighted to be delivering utility infrastructure for the significant redevelopment of the new Police and Fire Service Hub in Wellingborough, supporting a modern shared workspace for Northamptonshire fire and police services.
The project involves upgrading essential services to meet the operational demands of the newly refurbished facilities. Our works include delivering a non‑standard water connection to support the building’s increased supply requirements, as well as a substantial 785 kVA electricity connection to power the upgraded site
Sustainability is central to the refurbishment, with thousands of barely‑worn carpet tiles repurposed across the police and fire estates, and existing furniture redistributed for reuse wherever possible. The redesign includes a large open reception area, multi‑faith and well‑being facilities, a mini‑gym, showers, locker areas, flexible working zones, conference spaces, and a refreshment point featuring a suspended vintage police bicycle from the Northamptonshire Police heritage collection.
By coordinating the installation of critical utilities under a single, managed package, Connections2energy is supporting the successful delivery of this flagship public‑sector hub, ensuring the infrastructure is robust, compliant, and fit for future operational needs.
“We know these facilities provide services that the community relies on, so we take great care to avoid disruptions and adapt to the clients’ needs,” Andrea Naylor, Senior Account Manager
